About the Traveler's Market

The Traveler’s Market concept was brought to life by Lesley Martin in 2006. The closing of the long-lived, upscale Tesuque Flea Market left vendors without venues. Santa Fe has always been a good market for ethnographic and tribal art, so at significant personal risk, Lesley moved quickly to fill the void by founding the Traveler's Market.
Twelve dealers joined her with a desire to create a place where all cultures could be represented and celebrated by offering ethnographic and tribal art, antiques, beads, jewlery, accessories, clothing, carpets and ecclectic home decor from around the world. The Traveler’s Market orignally set up shop in a vacant space in the DeVargas Center where it flourished, attracting more vendors and customers. In April, 2021, the Market moved to a much larger space in the Santa Fe Place Mall where more than 40 vendors represent art, antiques, accessories and jewelry from almost as many cultures.
Today, visitors to the Traveler’s Market are excited to discover the range and quality of the treasures individually selected and imported by the diverse travelers who make up the market. There is something for every budget, from Maya beaded earrings under $15 to unique gold jewelry for $1500 and up. The atmosphere is as casual and friendly as one would expect when like-minded people with similar goals and experiences, as well as a love for learning about different cultures, come together. We invite you to visit the Traveler's Market a place where you can "Shop the world without a passport".
